As an educator for almost three decades, I am delighted to be a board member of HOHCC because of the educational initiatives we will be promoting. This includes STEM education and mentoring young boys and girls on a mountain bike trail. I look forward to motivating students to be better citizens while giving them viable career options that will change their lives and the trajectory of their children forever. By reaching and teaching children who we will serve in HOHCC, I will play my role in ensuring our society becomes a better place for all to live in.

I have been affiliated with several urban ministries over the last 20 years. When I moved to Florida in 2013 and subsequently learned about Herald of Hope I became excited. They already had a well stablished food bank. I greatly enjoy tutoring students, so I’ve been looking forward to assisting with the education portion of the program. I truly believe education is a key means to upward social mobility, as I have experienced it personally. There is nothing more gratifying than seeing the expression on the faces of students at that moment of epiphany when they finally comprehend a concept that they previously did not understand. My hope is that any students that benefits from the program will invest themselves by helping mentor and teach the students that follow behind them in the program

What interest me the most while I serve others in my community are the people I serve. My commitment to serving others is what motivates me to continue doing what I am doing day after day. The people in my community are the ones who get me going because of their sincere appreciation and gratitude for what I do for them. It is my hope that as I serve my community through Herald Of Hope Community Corporation food pantry, that my actions will always be selfless. God has Blessed me abundantly. It would only be right to bless others just as much. There’s nothing more rewarding than making a difference in my community by giving up my time to volunteer on the weekends at Herald Of Hope as it seeks to serve others.
